For residents and families
Ask for what you need, in your own words.
AskLight is a small device in the room. Press the button, say what you need, and the staff on duty are told what it is — so they can bring it.
For residents & families
What AskLight does for you.
You decide when it listens
It's off until you press the button. Press again to stop.
Say it your way
“Could I have some water?” or “I need the bathroom.” No special words.
Can't talk? Hold the button
A long press asks for help without saying anything.
Nothing is kept
What you say is turned into a request, then the recording is deleted.
Private
Staff phones show only “New care request” until a staff member opens the app.
Still use the call bell
For emergencies, always use the call bell or call for help as you normally would.
Questions
Is someone listening to me all the time?
No. The device only listens after you press its button, and it sends short clips of speech, not everything in the room. People don't listen to the clips; they're turned into a written request and deleted.
What if it doesn't understand me?
If it isn't sure, a staff supervisor reads what it heard and decides. You can also hold the button to ask for help without speaking.
Is it for emergencies?
No. For emergencies, use the call bell or call out for help as you always would.
